Old man and his wit – four lessons of life

The grey haired gentleman in the picture above is my mother’s mamaji around six months back I had an opportunity to meet him in his village, where he is respected as elder of the village, and man with great wit.

I wanted to write this piece long back but it followed up to be written today, as time flies so does the body fade but what lives on is the joy of living while a brief talk with him he taught me few lessons of life and told me that these things will always help you I tend to write this piece to bring forward to you the lessons that I learnt in those brief 30 minutes.

He started by saying “tu Vada banda hogaya aan sanu kithe yaad rakhna” which translates to you have become a big man why would you remember me ,to which I replied “bazurgan nu kadi bhuliya ni janda, ek asi hamesha thwade Toh chote ha.” Which translates to elderly members are never forgotten the young ones are always indebted to them.

After this discussion that we had he took me to his room where lay a small bed with two pictures on the wall, pointing at one of them he said “kadi asi vi Jawan hun de si” which translates to that there was a time when we were also young.

1.In the first lesson he said you will not remain young forever as your body will fade but your soul should always be youthful and ready to help others.

2. While narrating story of the past how he was taken to choose grooms for the daughters of the village he said never have the greed to get something from the person you do good for as and when the time will come you will realise the good deeds that you did are paying off

3.While rampantly talking about the past present and the future see all of a sudden said do what you can but in the end what is destined to happen will happen his exact words were “jo hona a oh hoke hi rehna”

Then he further told me that once is leg broke , and the villagers took him to the hospital got him treated and paid him a visit everyday he said this was because of his selfless karma.

4.The last lesson he taught me was be confident in what you do as the other person does not know whether you are right or wrong in the end it’s your wit and wisdom that will help you succeed.

BJP-PDP breakup not what you see it as.

PDP was discriminating towards Jammu – Amit Shah,BJP
What Came as a shock to the general public was conceived by many as a well-planned strategy of the central leadership of BJP. What needs to be taken into consideration is that nothing done in politics is without as reason whether patch-up or Breakups. What was considered to be a great alliance by the BJP at one time has now been ridiculed to its limits.

It was not the discrimination factor that leads to the breakup it was rather the insecurity of  deteriorating conditions in the valley after an attack in the heart of Jammu kunjwan the goverenment was shaken. Well the much celebrated surgical strike went in an opposing direction with the number of attacks and casulaties taken a rise. While the another big announcement that was demonatisation after which the center claimed that the stone pelting and insurgency had reduced was again just a verbal claim.

The barbaric killings of Individuals and the attacks on armed forces were not being contained and there was a threat that it may lead a worse sititauion. As far as i have read about the issue of kashmir and obsereved I personally feel that the face of militancy is changing as i had written before. What needs to considered is that the Problem is now not limited to the LeT or Hizbul the problem has spread to the school going students the college graducates the college drops and each one of them call himself a hizbul or Let comander, I personally feel the bilateral seafire that was initiated was a political stunt to get some soft corner in the heart of the Sepratist and the extremist and was more of vote bank stunt a similar incident had even taken place in the Atal Biharis time. But this time the seasfire went utterly wrong with the killing of a renouned and independent voice of Sujat Bukhari the editor of a kashmir daily. It was not the first of its kind murder of a journalist but what is shameful is the statement of Mr Lal Singh of BJP who went out to say that the Journos should draw a else they would meet the same fait as that of Bukhari.

Another barbaric act was the aduction and killing of Aurangzeb which leada nation wide outrage and that to a day before Eid but yes it opened the eyes of Majority of Indians who thought muslims in valley were anti India. Statements of Aurganzeb’s father were heart touching. one of the major cause of breakup is these two killings and the decling spport in the jammu region where the wanted to regain the high ground by statting that they broke up because PDP was not letting them work ,I feel they have saved themseleves from a huge embarssement because the conditions on the valley are really very bad.

Talking Toms and Growling Pups

This is another ear into politics, left right and center have end up between facts dramatics and vocals. In specific, I am talking about how a prime minister has become dramatics expert and how a well-trolled man is struggling to get into the mainstream politics and trying to upload the legacy and the political regime of his family.

With parliament disfunctional almost for the present session and the talking tom not answering the questions of the opposition and goes on to say that I  am not allowed to speak in the parliament so I am speaking on the road side. The other own a new pup who is learning how to growl is making rhetorical statements trying to be poetic from scripted paper pads. Indian politics has become a drama with a great orator and a stage actor everything is trying to be linked to Nationalism whereas nationalism has started to become more of hero worship, The dramatic on stage which self-proclaims himself of being a protection shield for the every single countryman and not dealing with the actual issues not addressing the issue of counterfeit notes , corruption , black gold , unemployment. Well, I am no one to say but “Garajne wale badal baraste nahi”. With tricolour being tried to be saffron in occasions of laying the foundation stone of big statues which hold only cosmetic value.

A CHARISMATIC LEADER is pulling India to towards a dead end another nazi regime in making maybe. The world drawback to a true democracy is a weak opposition that is what i call the growling pup with regional parties not coming together and funny speeches being delivered from both the sides i don’t know the future of Indian Politics

Why did the Chief Justice of India cry?

For the fist in the Indian history, a justice had broken down at the dais, “Getting emotional is a weakness” said the CJI , “it’s the deliberate negligence of government that has pushed the judiciary into scarcity’
With more than 3 crore cases awaiting justice and  44% judges missing in high courts, 25% judges missing in subordinate courts and 19% judges missing in the supreme court.

It is not just the fault of the government there are other issues too like cases of Rich litigants being heard first and of poor litigants later, courts are not an easy affair nor a poor man’s play on average litigant spends around Rs.519 per day to attend court (as per the statistics  provided  by The India Today). The average income for a household in India is less than 7000 per month.3 years is the average pendency of any case in our 21 high courts, The national judicial commission has been demanding an increase in the number of courts and the number of judges in the country.

Something that we take for granted is that a case which goes to the supreme court takes around 13 years for its decision to come , breaking down of the CJI was because he has been a person who has spent his life serving the purpose of justice there are many strong decisions given by him he is Famous for his say on the Clean Ganga case where he has categorically told the government prosecutors that  mere plans would not clean Ganga, he also pointed out to senior advocates like Mr. Sibbal to fight the case on facts and laws .

Many things need to talk about as courts are the institutes which neither have the power to purse and the sword , which makes them weak, there is a need to make these institutions more strong. We have Judicial supremacy in India still we a lagging behind there is a lack of technology in the nation’s Judicial system.

Changing face of Militancy

The valley was on the boil again, and this time, it was the led young Kashmiris. Something that was earlier done in the name of AZADI with guns and grenades is now being done by creating a stubble and disputes between the civilians and the armed forces.

The Face of terrorism is changing; Indian armed forces have been successful in lowering down the infiltration of weapons into the to a very large number, Militancy is not what it used to be Now they are coming on streets and destroying building and catching media’s attention where as a terror attack going in some small sector of the valley get a very less attention.

Separatist Organisations involved in the valley have now taken over social networking websites to influence the youth who have grown on daily military fatigues and stop checks that Freedom only can bring to them the normalcy the crave. It is a concern for everyone how would a no weaponized militancy be kept under check?

The centre government in Delhi had announced a package of 80,000 crores for the people in the valley last November, and Mehbooba Muftis first job should be to utilize these funds to bring back Kupwara-Handawara belt was the last belt where they could have expected violence. According to a report In The INDIA TODAY, The Jamaat-e-Islami and  Hurriyat separatist have not been able to make inroads into the region and the turnouts in elections have been really High. Recent Incidents, however, are a great revocation to the high turnout as On 19Th April 3 army bunkers were demolished in the centre of the town.

This is the new face of terrorism where violence without guns is being used to disturb the Internal peace of the Nation.

Decoding the Propaganda Behind Handwara(Army not at fault)

Handwara firing: Girl denies being molested by a soldier, blames local.

There is a big propaganda behind what is happening in Kashmir. How come all of a sudden N.I.T students are feeling threatened? Local youths tried manhandling a school girl it was framed as molestation,Is the present day government not able to maintain law and order situation in the valley? The girl denied being molested by a copper. The whole incident was planned as the girl was slapped by her own classmate outside the washroom he said and I quote as per the statement was given by the girl ‘Kashmir main ladke nahi bache kya” the girl even said that ‘ek police uncle khade the jinke sath meine police station jane ki kosish ki”. The after that boys of her class/school gathered and started creating nuisance all around the area, this incident just another to the ideas going on for destabilizing the situation in the valley so that an emergency can be imposed and BJP can ask for reelections .

The people getting bad name are the soldiers of our beloved nation because their camps are being attacked and certainly in retaliation have fired and I in my personal capacity do condemn  Shooting of people and protestors. But even the protestors should not attack the army. What have they gained? Lost four innocent lives for a political propaganda, and have tensed the situation in the valley from Kupwara to Uri. Army is trying to work for the betterment of people in the valley terrorism has gone down and there are some specific areas on which army needs to work. And the incident of firing did not take place from the side of the army rather it was the J&K police which fired as per the photos published by various media houses.

The solution to this problem is not very simple because the bond between The  Army and civilians was being built up with time which weakens when such incidents take place. Army Spokesperson also condemned the firing and it shall be noted Army never takes innocent lives but if attacked on army needs to protect itself. Killing of innocent people is wrong, and what is important is that the local people should realize the political agenda behind the whole issue.

The issue of NIT and kashmiri pundits is also politically motivated and peace loving people
of kashmir should not fall pray to the issue

Tribute to the Army Brat Who Framed The Indian Constitution – Dr B.R Ambedkar

Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, popularly known as Babasaheb, was an Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer who inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement and campaigned against social discrimination.

Ambedkar was born on 14 April 1891 in the town and military cantonment of Mhow in the Central Provinces (now in Madhya Pradesh). He was the 14th and last child of Ramji Maloji Sakpal, a ranked army officer at the post of Subedar and Bhimabai Murbadkar Sakpal.

Army has certainly given our nation great and eminent personalities from Dr Ambedkar to Arnab Goswami. I want every single individual to realsie that we the army brats have a rich heritage and should live up to the expectations of our ancestors. We should wprk for implemantation of teh constitution, we should promote the idea of a secualr and socialist nation. Doctor Ambedkar always worked for a nation which the caste system did not exist.

Idea of Ambedkar.

As Ambedkar was educated by the Princely State of Baroda, he was bound to serve it. He was appointed Military Secretary to the Gaikwad but had to quit in a short time. He described the incident in his autobiography, Waiting for a Visa. Thereafter, he tried to find ways to make a living for his growing family. He worked as a private tutor, as an accountant, and established an investment consulting business, but it failed when his clients learned that he was an untouchable. In 1918, he became Professor of Political Economy in theSydenham College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai. Although he was successful with the students, other professors objected to his sharing a drinking-water jug with them.

Ambedkar had been invited to testify before the Southborough Committee, which was preparing the Government of India Act 1919. At this hearing, Ambedkar argued for creating separate electorates and reservations for untouchables and other religious communities. In 1920, he began the publication of the weekly Mooknayak (Leader of the Silent) in Mumbai with the help of Shahaji II (1874–1922), Maharaja of Kolhapur.

Ambedkar went on to work as a legal professional. In 1926, he successfully defended three non-Brahmin leaders who had accused the Brahmin community of ruining India and were then subsequently sued for libel. Dhananjay Keer notes that “The victory was resounding, both socially and individually, for the clients and the Doctor”

Drafting India’s Constitution

Upon India’s independence on 15 August 1947, the new Congress-led government invited Ambedkar to serve as the nation’s first Law Minister, which he accepted. On 29 August, he was appointed Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee, charged by the Assembly to write India’s new Constitution.

Granville Austin described the Indian Constitution drafted by Ambedkar as ‘first and foremost a social document’. … ‘The majority of India’s constitutional provisions are either directly arrived at furthering the aim of social revolution or attempt to foster this revolution by establishing conditions necessary for its achievement.’

The text prepared by Ambedkar provided constitutional guarantees and protections for a wide range of civil liberties for individual citizens, including freedom of religion, the abolition of untouchability, and the outlawing of all forms of discrimination. Ambedkar argued for extensive economic and social rights for women, and won the Assembly’s support for introducing a system of reservations of jobs in the civil services, schools and colleges for members of scheduled castes and scheduled tribes and Other Backward Class, a system akin toaffirmative action. India’s lawmakers hoped to eradicate the socio-economic inequalities and lack of opportunities for India’s depressed classes through these measures. The Constitution was adopted on 26 November 1949 by the Constituent Assembly.

During the debates in the Constituent Assembly, Ambedkar demonstrated his will to reform Indian society by recommending the adoption of a Uniform Civil Code.Ambedkar resigned from the cabinet in 1951, when parliament stalled his draft of the Hindu Code Bill, which sought to enshrine gender equality in the laws of inheritance and marriage.Ambedkar independently contested an election in 1952 to the lower house of parliament, the Lok Sabha, but was defeated in the Bombay (North Central) constituency by a little-known Narayan Sadoba Kajrolkar, who polled 138,137 votes compared to Ambedkar’s 123,576. He was appointed to the upper house, of parliament, the Rajya Sabha in March 1952 and would remain as member till death.

Opposition to Article 370

Ambedkar opposed Article 370 of the Constitution of India, which granted a special status to the State of Jammu and Kashmir, and which was included against his wishes. Balraj Madhok reportedly said, Ambedkar had clearly told Sk. Abdullah: “You wish India should protect your borders, she should build roads in your area, she should supply you food grains, and Kashmir should get equal status as India. But Government of India should have only limited powers and Indian people should have no rights in Kashmir. To give consent to this proposal, would be a treacherous thing against the interests of India and I, as the Law Minister of India, will never do it.” Then Sk. Abdullah approached Nehru, who directed him to Gopal Swami Ayyangar, who in turn approached Sardar Patel, saying Nerhu had promised Sk. Abdullah the special status. Patel got the Article passed while Nehru was on a foreign tour. On the day the article came up for discussion, Ambedkar did not reply to questions on it but did participate on other articles. All arguments were done by Krishna Swami Ayyangar.

I dedicate this article to our brave soldiers, do read and share regards son of a fauji

With the ongoing situation in the country ,it seems as if I have become a no man’s terrorist because I am criticising and writing against fascism in a democratic nation.
It is more like hitting my own self with a hammer. I have started feeling that roots of democracy are becoming stronger as people have started realising that a government machinery is a tool of the Ruling government but people have the power to resist and fight back fascism.

Ongoing fascism is not the same as it use to be before, yes it resembles somewhat to nationalist socialism . What is happening is really bad the student community is being a target for the very reason that they have liberal thinking and want to work towards a progressive socialist society. No man can be denied the very right to dissent and democracy in a secular and sovereign nation like India. There is an ongoing school of thought of HINDU RASHTRA which itself is defying the basic principals of the Indian constitution. Who shall have the right to decide who is nationalist or is anti-national? With terrorism becoming a political toy and peace talks shape of  some melodrama I request the government to take up some serious steps to pay tribute to the brave soldiers who are losing their life for their own  nation. I feel that more than politicising petty issues the government should take up firm and crisp actions  to provide Defense services with more technology and better armour .Every single soldier lost is a loss to the nation. I do not want the soldiers to become a bait to political issues. They die for the nation, they serve the nation, not some political party . Indian army is an  apolitical organisation based on the idea of the Top-20-Best-Quotes-From-Indian-Army-Soldiers-Awesome-Inspirational-Saying-14.jpgnation first and so-called nationalist parties should learn from the Indian army about nation first and rest later.

Jai Hind (Hindi: जय हिन्द) is a salutation, slogan, and battle cry most commonly used in India in speeches and communications pertaining to or referring to patriotism towards India (also known as Hind).

Chanting Bharat Mata ki Jai does not count as a certificate for being a nationalist as the largest voluntary army our own Army use the term JAI HIND. As far as records are concerned I have not read that a mere slogan `can make you a national of anti-national. Why can I not be an Indian if I say JAI HIND ? OR INQUILAB ZINDABAD. Mere statements do not make a man national. Why were peace loving citizens beaten up even when they said Jai hind?

Silence amounts to consent. Are you giving your consent to fascism by staying quite?
